Love Letters to Darkness

Dear Darkness,

Boldly quiet, ageless grace

Still and steady resting space

First born calm eternal place

Did you ever anticipate the downfall of your reign?

The pain

The bane

Your slayer’s dressed in white

Dear Shadow,

Cools and tempers scorching ground

Holds my hand without a sound

Protecting shield sheltering around

Were you worried to be found contender of good?

Of could?

Of should?

Stand faithful to devastation

Dear Midnight,

You’re created just the same

Separated by a name

Shaded black to play his game

Are you grieving since he came just to end your night?

With might

With light

Never mattered who’s at fault
