Again

Fresh start. Clean day-break.
But same breath exhaling.

Same sunrise. Same ocean.
Attractive tonight.

But dimmer. But darker.
In night’s revolution.

You’ve seen it all
before.

The waters poured in. The rivers streamed out.
The wind still returns from the orbit of earth.

The circle and cycle makes sunsets remember.
They’ve been here before. They’ve been here before.

Tonight the sun sets, yet it seemed way too early.
Sometimes the pinks fade, yes, too quickly tonight.

Expectation thins sunshine, when you’ve seen this before.
When you’ve felt this before, wet blurred muted panic.
When you’ve felt this before, it all aches the same.

Last year it felt longer and larger and warmer.
But to feel is illusion.
Each sunset
The same.

But how can a sunrise be more than it was?
More color? More light?
More time? More meaning?
More beauty to see?

A fireball phenomena hovered steady in darkness.
Bleeds into this darkness, and bruised purple clouds.

Is this where I live now? Where pleasure lays buried?
Each morning, fresh day, must I dig fresh again?

You know what is needed.
You know what I’ve seen.
Regret I prayed silence
That now smothers Your sun

Bold sun. Same sky.
On my rock sandy shore.
New day. Is the tease.

Will you hold what I’ve seen?
